César Nieto's Iberico Bellota Ham Triumphs at the Golden Forks 2024 of Great Taste

The 100% Iberico Bellota DOP Guijuelo Ham by César Nieto has won the highest trophy for its flavor.

During the prestigious awards ceremony held at the Battersea Arts Centre in London on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, the winners of the Great Taste Golden Forks 2024 were announced, celebrating the world’s finest food and drink products.

The Spanish Golden Fork was highly contested, with César Nieto’s 100% Iberico Bellota Guijuelo Ham, Conservas Catalina’s Butter Anchovies, and Olio Fino’s Blanco Balsamic Vinegar making it to the final stage. César Nieto managed to secure the award for its pata negra ham.

The judges described this ham as “Perfect. It had that immense depth of flavor, that wonderful shine without being greasy; it melted in the mouth, truly flavorful, with an excellent finish. Simply, an outstanding example of Iberico.”

This year’s awards saw the presentation of 16 Great Taste Golden Forks, with winners selected from nearly 14,000 entries.

Every year, a jury of 500 industry experts meticulously evaluates up to 14,000 products over 90 days to uncover the world’s tastiest foods. All products are anonymized before entering a robust multi-layered blind tasting process. In 2024, 13,672 products from 115 countries were submitted.
